Please consider volunteering at Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton. You will enjoy an enriching experience as you help fulfill the Arboretum's mission of education, conservation and preservation.

New Volunteer Information & Orientation Session and Training

  • Saturday, January 31, 9:30 a.m -12:30 p.m.

All volunteers participate in orientation, onboarding, and training activities prior to volunteering.

Choose a Volunteering Adventure

There are many different ways to help out at Arboretum and Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton. Choose how you want to volunteer:

Horticulture Volunteers

  • Monday-Friday with Horticulture team
  • Develop and maintain the living collections.
  • Care and Harvest for our rare and stone fruit orchards.
  • Learn about environmentally responsible gardening and plant identification.

 

Environmental Education Volunteers - Field Trip Volunteers & Discovery Station Docents

Applications will be available January 2026. Training, mentoring, and materials are provided. No experience necessary.

Support our Environmental Education programs by volunteering with our:

  • Field Trip Team (Wednesdays and/or Thursdays). Volunteers work with established materials and script to provide engaging information and artifacts to visiting families, schools and tour groups.  Field trip volunteers help guide small groups for learning about Biomes, Heritage House, and Trees.  You can learn more about our field trip program by visiting this link:  https://arboretum.fullerton.edu/school-program.aspx
  • Or hosting one of our Discovery Stations (one or more days, Friday-Tuesday). Station themes include Birds, Ponds, Pollinators and more and include a leader guide, artifacts and engaging activities for visitors of all ages.
